I was given the word "Inward" to interpret however I'd like. I decided to deep dive into a simple character named Joe. Joe seems normal enough and then things take a turn as we violently split him in half to look Inward. We learn that Joe's brain compartmentalizes some not-so-normal and....bloody things.
In the design of the word "Inward" I wanted to convey a sense of unease in the coloring. Minimal, but a little hard to look at. As well as splitting it apart to look Inward as we do with the character. As we learn about Joe, the design goes from minimal and easier to digest, and transitions to a bit more gritty in texture and harsher colors.
